Kashmir Solidarity Day observed in Pakistan and across the world
ISLAMABAD (5th Feb, 2020) – Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed today all over Pakistan and in many parts of the world to express full support of Pakistani nation to the just struggle of Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination under United Nations resolutions.
This year the day is being observed after India on 5th and 6th August, 2019 unilaterally and illegally using its Hindu Majority legislatures revoked the decades old special status of ‘Muslim Majority disputed territory of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K)’ and withdrew all the special right of the J&K people in severe violations of various resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
One minute silence was observed at 10.00 am to pay homage to the martyrs of the liberation struggle of occupied Kashmir.
Human chains were formed at Kohala, Mangla, Barar Kot, Holar and Azad Pattan points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
At Kohala, all major political leaders of the country belonging to different parties of all four provinces and regions of Pakistan including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir were present on this occasion.
Rallies, public meetings, and seminars are being held across the country, including Azad Kashmir to draw attention of the world community towards grave human rights violations and brutalities against innocent Kashmiris by the Indian security forces.
Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the special session of AJK Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad today to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri brethren.
