United Nations General Assembly – Imran Khan will vehemently represent the Kashmiri’s of IOK

Imran Khan the Prime Minister of Pakistan (PM) will vehemently present the desires of Kashmiri people before the international community during his address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) next month.

The above statement was released by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi  while talking to the media persons in Islamabad today.

Qureshi further said the PM will also hold bilateral meetings and attend other events in New York on the sidelines of UN General Assembly session.

Qureshi reiterated that under Shimla agreement, both Pakistan and India are bound to bilaterally resolve Kashmir dispute. He highlighted that Indian PM Modi led government’s 5th August 2019 and onwards measures are unilateral in nature and it is Modi who undermined the spirit of bilateralism.

The Foreign Minister said the unilateral steps in occupied Kashmir are in total breach of UN Security Council resolutions and the international laws. He pointed out that fourteen petitions have been filed in the Indian Supreme Court against these illegal steps. He said it is the test of the Indian apex court whether it gives the judgement independently or succumb to Modi’s pressure.

Qureshi expressed severe concerns of Pakistan and Pakistani nation over the plights of innocent Kashmiris in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and elaborated that the people are faced with severe shortages of essential commodities including food items and live saving drugs. Kashmiri people are not being allowed to offer their prayers in mosques, nor are they allowed to goto hospitals for any medical emergency and IOK has been made world’s largest jail by Modi and Indian Army with the aim of mass genocide of the innocent Kashmiris, as per sources.

Qureshi revealed that since the IOK police force also comprises of many Muslims – those Muslims are perturbed over the IOK situation as a result of which the Indian authorities are taking back arms and weapons from police personnel.

He thanked Iran for coming up with a strong stance in support of the oppressed IOK Kashmiri people.

Qureshi said the world is not oblivious to the situation in IOK and the international public opinion on IOK is now changing – adding that the Pakistani and Kashmiri community abroad is holding protest demonstrations against the Indian atrocities and persecution.

Qureshi said Pakistani community in London will stage another big protest in the coming days in solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will highlight their situation after Modi’s unilateral inhumane acts.
