Canadian H.C. Wendy Gilmour awakens the capital of Pakistan & unites the Diplomats for “Saving the Environment”
Canada’s High Commissioner to Pakistan “Wendy Gilmour” initiated a noble cause yesterday for a Cleaner Greener Pakistan which was actively supported by the German, United Kingdom, French, Azerbaijan, Japanese and other embassies staff.
Over hundred volunteers teamed up together in the hot summer day and participated in the Capital City’s diplomatic area clean-up and recycling drive.
Officials from the Pakistani Government, the mayor of Islamabad, advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Climate Change Mr. Malik Amin Aslam also graced the environment friendly initiative and showed their support for this noble cause.
The Islamabad Serena Hotel staff also volunteered for the clean-up drive along the diplomatic missions staff.
The clean-up and recycling drive initiated by the Canadian High Commissioner being strengthened by the German and other diplomatic staff was a superb example of team work, unity and commitment against pollution, littering and environmental damage – this serious effort created a big motivation among the youth of Pakistan to stop littering and save the environment.
