Nick, Priyanka’s wedding reception, Indian PM Modi among the guests
After a quick courtship and engagement and only a few months of planning, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas finally held their wedding over the weekend.
With two wedding ceremonies—one a Christian ceremony officiated by Jonas’s pastor father, and the other a traditional Hindu ceremony—and an entire four days’ of wedding festivities, the excited newlyweds posted up at the “Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace” for the weekend, where they celebrated their love in a series of colorful, glamorous, celeb-studded parties.
In the days leading up to the weekend, Chopra and Jonas prepared for their nuptials with a Mehendi ceremony, an afternoon gathering during which all of the women in the bride’s and groom’s families, as well as close female friends, gathered together while Chopra had elaborate henna designs applied to her hands and feet. Chopra and Jonas opted to keep their event coed, however, and Jonas was photographed being lifted on the shoulders of several male wedding guests.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding reception in New Delhi on Tuesday night.
Dressed in a white kurta pyjama and a black waistcoat, the Indian Prime Minister was received by Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra who accompanied him to the stage where he gifted a rose each to the newly-weds.
According to sources, Modi stayed on the stage for about 10 minutes exchanging greetings and pleasantries with the couple’s families.
Priyanka also introduced Modi to her brother-in-law Joe Jonas and his fiance “Game Of Thrones” actor Sophie Turner.
