Bill Gates felicitates PM Imran Khan, appreciates anti-polio efforts over phone call
ISLAMABAD (5th Dec, 2018): Microsoft’s Co-Founder, Co-chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and philanthropist Bill Gates, today in a telephonic conversation felicitated Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on assuming the top office and acknowledged his efforts to eradicate ‘Polio’ from the country.
In the 30 minutes long phone call Bill Gates assured the Prime Minister of his continued assistance in various sectors. (source Radio Pakistan).
The duo also exchanged ideas to boost the IT industry in Pakistan, according to Babar Bin Atta — the focal person to PM Khan on polio eradication — who was with the PM at the time of his conversation with Bill Gates.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan in response thanked Bill Gates for his work in the social sector.
Earlier in March 2015 also Bill Gates had acknowledged Imran Khan’s anti-polio efforts vide a letter and then via a telephonic call (in same month) further appreciating Imran Khan’s efforts in trying to eliminate polio virus from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
