Pakistan’s Army Chief apprises Chinese military leadership about India’s accelerated violations in Jammu and Kashmir

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa who is in China has apprised the Chinese military leadership about India’s continued and accelerated violations in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K).

General Bajwa in his visit to China reiterated that Pakistan looks forward to peace but that shall not be at the cost of any compromise on principles or honour and dignity of the Pakistani nation.

He discussed the IOJ&K situation with senior Chinese military leadership including Commander Army People’s Liberation Army General Han Weiguo and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission General Xu Qiliang at PLA Headquarters in Beijing on Tuesday.

General Bajwa also apprised the Chinese military leadership about consequences of the ongoing situation in IOJ&K if it is not amicably resolved.

He stressed that India needs to respect UN resolutions and ensure the human rights of Kashmiris.

The Chinese military leadership agreed that the worsening situation in IOJ&K will have serious implications on the regional peace.

They agreed that continued unresolved Pak-India tension will have serious implications for peace and stability in the region.

The Chinese military leadership appreciated Pakistan’s rational approach in the interest of local and regional peace.

Both sides agreed to enhance existing defence cooperation in line with history of mutual time tested relationship.

The two sides also discussed the developing situation in Gulf and efforts for peace in Afghanistan.

Earlier, at the time of arrival to China General Bajwa was presented guard of honour.
