National Intelligence Coordination Committee proposed by Faiz Hameed approved by Imran Khan

GHQ RAWALPINDI (Monday, Nov 24, 2020): Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed’s proposal of setting up the National Intelligence Coordination Committee (NICC), is approved by the Prime Minister Imran Khan, as per sources.

Faiz Hameed is currently heading Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) as Director General.

NICC |the brainchild of Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed| will serve as the platform where all the intelligence and data sharing of Pakistan’s over 24 intelligence organization will be coordinated and streamlined thereby massively improving the efficiency and decision making of the country’s intelligence network.

It has also been decided to bring National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) under the umbrella of NICC making it part of NICC.

NICC will be headed by the D.G. ISI in the capacity of the new body’s Chairman – with its first meeting to be held next week as per sources.

Sardar Hayaat Mandokhel the President of a leading Software Engineering & Technology Company | also the Chief of Mandokhel and Hadizai tribes | in his media statement lauded the setup of NICC by Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed and Faiz Hameed’s services for the country and countering terrorism in the region.

Sardar Hayaat Mandokhel advised that 90 % of the NICC’s success will depend on “Advanced Highly Secured Information Technology and Communications Infrastructure” dedicated to NICC for which assistance can be taken from China and that the setup may require multi-billion dollar budget which the Prime Minister must sanction in the larger interest of the country”.
