Pakistan Army troops assisting all administrations of Pakistan in fight against COVID19 – ISPR
Pakistan Army troops are assisting all administrations (federal, provincial, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir) for the enforcement measures to combat COVID-19 with focus on Public Safety.
Army troops have been deployed across the country in aid of civil power under article 245, as per Pakistan Armed Forces military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Contact tracking, tracing to identify and isolate suspected individuals is being done to ensure containment of COVID-19 spread.
The Pakistan army troops are also assisting in effective management of 182 declared quarantine facilities across the country.
In Balochistan the Army troops have been deployed in nine districts of Balochistan, including Awaran, Dukki, Chaghi, Lasbela, Kalat, Naushki, Khuzdar, Sibbi and Gwadar. Along enforcing restriction on movement of traffic between various towns and cities, the major focus of the military deployment in the province has been on beefing up quarantine facilities at the Taftan border crossing with Iran and Chaman border crossing with Afghanistan as per ISPR.

Gilgit Baltistan which is another rising hotspot for the Covid19 pandemic in Pakistan there also Army troops have been deployed in all its 10 districts for assisting civil administration with enforcement measures, screening and testing of patients.
Army helicopters flew special sorties through Khunjrab pass for transporting and distribution of medical equipment received from China including 5 Ventilators, 2000 testing kits, 2000 medical suits, 2000 N-95 Masks & 0.2 Million Face Masks on 27th March as per ISPR.
In the federal capital the Army’s troops, are manning joint check posts on all entry plus exit points and undertaking joint patrolling with police, besides isolation of localities from where Covid-19 cases were being reported.
In Punjab the troops are assisting health authorities in managing quarantine facilities established in D.G. Khan, Multan, Faisalabad and Lahore Expo Centre along mass disinfection campaign at various public places, airports and train platforms.
All points of entries on international borders and within the country are being manned and monitored with establishment of joint Check Posts while joint patrolling with other Law Enforcement Agencies is being carried out meritoriously as per sources.
