EasyJet grounds 300 plus aircrafts, furloughs cabin crew for two months
LONDON – EasyJet the low cost British airline (EZJ.L) announced grounding its entire fleet of 300 plus aircrafts with no certain date of resuming the commercial flights.
It has also confirmed having reached an agreement with Unite (the union which represents EasyJet’s cabin crew) for employees to be furloughed for two months.
Under the agreement the airline’s cabin crew would not work for two months starting from April 1 and will be paid 80% of their average pay under the government job retention scheme.
