Post Christchurch Mosques Attack –Jacinda Ardern introduce regulations to ban military type weapons

WELLINGTON/CHRISTCHURCH (Thursday, 21 March 2019) – five days after a  ‘white supremacist’ planned  terrorist attack on two mosques in New Zealand, killing 50 Muslims Jacinda Ardern the prime Minister of New Zealand has introduced strict regulations to ban military-style semi-automatic and assault rifles.

“On 15 March our history changed forever. Now, our laws will too. We are announcing action today on behalf of all New Zealanders to strengthen our gun laws and make our country a safer place,” Ardern told a new conference.

“All semi-automatic weapons used during the terrorist attack on Friday 15 March will be banned.”

Arden said she expects the new laws to be in place by April 11 and a buy-back scheme will be established for banned weapons.

Arden said the New Zealand govt. will buyback all such semi-automatic and automatic arms from its citizens which may cost from NZ$100 up to NZ$200 million, but that is the cost New Zealand will have to pay for a peaceful future.

In the past a similar programme was initiated by Australia which banned semi-automatic weapons and launched a gun buy-back after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996 in which 35 people were gunned down.

All of Arden’s acts after the tragic terrorist attack on mosques in Christchurch are being lauded all over the world particularly by Turkish President and Pakistani President and many analysts say that Arden may become the new bridge between the west and the Muslims and in eradicating Islamophobia.

Arden has clearly become an instant Islamic world superstar.
