Nawaz Sharif served a tray full of Kababs, Samosas along tea on arrival to Services Hospital! Is it good for his health, Doctors where are you?
LAHORE (Saturday, 02 February 2019): Ousted Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif was shifted from the ‘Kot Lakhpat’ prison to Services Hospital today.
Nawaz Sharif will be examined by a three-member medical board at the hospital.
Earlier, the Punjab home department granted permission to shift imprisoned former PM Nawaz Sharif to Services Hospital in keeping with the recommendations of a medical board.
An official of the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) who had seen Nawaz’s medical report told media, on the condition of anonymity, that the committee had recommended shifting the former prime minister to a hospital where there is a kidney specialist and a diabetologist. “He suffers from diabetes and there is some stents blockage,” the official added. “He also has stage 3 chronic kidney disease which is very severe.”
In December last year, Nawaz was sentenced to seven years in prison in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference by an accountability court.
A few days earlier, a team of doctors, including cardiologists, had conducted a medical examination of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader at Kot Lakhpat jail.
Blood samples of the former PM were sent to Jinnah Hospital and he had been taken to Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for further tests. Three tests, including echocardiogram (ECG) and Thallium, were conducted of the former PM at PIC and his medical reports showed that his heart was bigger than normal.
Following the medical reports, PML-N leaders had criticised the federal and Punjab government for not granting the former PM “proper treatment” and rejecting his “fundamental rights”.
