Pakistan’s Prime Minister offers condolences on the death of legendary Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki

Inoki was famous for his contest with boxing legend Muhammad Ali in a mixed martial arts match in 1976.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered his sincere and heartfelt condolences on the death of legendary Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki – to Inoki’s family and the Japanese nation.

Shehbaz Sharif shared his decade old picture with the legendary Japanese wrestler at Pakistan’s Lahore city stadium .

The Prime Minister said that Antonio Inoki  mesmerized a whole generation with his rare wrestling prowess.

The New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) – an organization promoting Japanese wrestling that Inoki founded in 1972 – announced on Saturday that it was “deeply saddened at the passing of our founder, Antonio Inoki.” Antonio Inoki has died aged 79 the NJPW informed.

Born Kanji Inoki in February 20, 1943, in Yokohama, a city south of Tokyo, Inoki moved to Brazil with his family when he was 13 years old, according to a NJPW statement. In Brazil, he met his mentor and pro-wrestling star Rikidozan, who scouted him.
