Italy aggressively initiates Pfizer-BioNtech vaccination against COVID-19

ROME (The HQ News) – Italy on Sunday started aggressive vaccination against the new CoronaVirus (COVID-19) pandemic which has massively affected the country since last almost 10 months.

The vaccination was initiated by vaccinating three health workers |the country’s front force and heroes fighting the pandemic bravely since its start| at the Rome Spallanzani hospital shortly before 0700 GMT.

Claudia Aliverini  one of the three health workers told media that : “The vaccine went very well and it was an exciting, historical moment,” “It is the beginning of the end and I hope to be the first of over 60 millions of Italians”.

Italy the worlds 8th most coronavirus pandemic hit country had till last Thursday 2.0 Million plus officially recorded COVID-19 positive cases and 70,909 reported deaths.

The country is vaccinating the Italian nation free of charge with priority of vaccinating the health workers and elderly people first.

Italy is using vaccines developed by Pfizer and BioNTech which is found to be 90% plus effective in preventing COVID-19 in participants without evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the first interim efficacy analysis.

The vaccine has been granted a conditional marketing authorization, emergency use authorization in more than 40 countries worldwide including all 27 European Union member states.

The US Government has also ordered 200 Million doses of Pfizer-BioNtech Covid-19 Vaccines which are expected to be delivered by July 31, 2021 to US.
