H.E. SherAli Jonovov Ambassador of Tajikistan calls on Murad Saeed
ISLAMABAD (December 12, 2018): H.E. SherAli Jonovov Ambassador of Tajikistan called on Murad Saeed yesterday.
State Minister for Communications Mr. Murad Saeed in the meeting said that Pakistan wishes to have strong relations with central Asian states particularly in the fields of tourism, trade, energy, and transport along-with economic corridor.
Pakistan also wants to include Tajikistan in the Quadrilateral agreement, and this inclusion of Tajikistan in the agreement will be ensured in the meeting to be held in the first quarter of next year.
The minister said that the significance of Tajikistan and Central Asian States cannot be denied. Steps will be taken to strengthen the Link by air and land.
On the occasion Federal Secretary for Communications Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Chairman National Highway Authority Mr. Jawwad Rafique Malik and Senior Joint Secretary Ministry of Communications Mr. Altaf Asghar were also present.
Murad Saeed further said that the lack of contacts between the two nations will be eliminated. All sectors including science & technology and tourism have broader future prospects. Under the vision of Prime Minister Mr. Imran Khan Access to central Asian states through trade and commerce is required. Tourism is the future of our progress and development. While attracting the attention of the ambassador he said government of Pakistan wants to finalize the road transport agreement between Pakistan and Tajikistan as early as possible, in this regard Pakistan is waiting for the reply from Tajikistan for further development.
Earlier while talking to media H.E the Ambassador of Tajikistan Mr. SherAli Jonovov said that Tajikistan wishes investment in Pakistan. He said, minerals, fruits, energy and other trade sectors have brighter prospects of investment. Tajik transport company wants access to Karachi port. They are facing problems regarding FBR and Customs issues, which need to be addressed. We can only move forwards after developing strong trade networks between Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan. He suggested starting a flight between Islamabad and Dushanbe to create friendly relations between the two countries. He also suggest that Pakistan must complete the highway network between central Asian states on fast pace to benefit from the brighter prospects of economic corridor.
