ECP announced Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s 16 seats election schedule

ISLAMABAD (Monday, 06 May 2019) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for elections on sixteen seats of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly (KPK) – these 16 constituencies were earlier part of FATA which have been recently merged into KPK.

As per ECP schedule, polling will be held on the 2nd of July 2019.

The candidates can file their nomination papers with the returning officers from Thursday to Saturday. 18th May, 2019 is the last date for scrutiny of the nomination papers.

Last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the returning officers regarding acceptance or rejection of the nomination papers is 22nd May.

The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by 29th May, 2019 and the same day, the revised list of candidates will be released by ECP.

The allotment of election symbol to the contesting candidates will be done on 30thMay, 2019.

Meanwhile for fairplay equity and transparency the ECP has directed that no posting or transfer of any officer be made in the tribal districts till the publication of names of returned candidates and all government functionaries and elected representatives are barred from announcing development schemes in these 16 constituencies.
