Christchurch Mosques Attack – Enviable role of ‘Jacinda Ardern’

WELLINGTON/CHRISTCHURCH/ISLAMABAD ( Sunday,17 March 2019) – two days after a  ‘white supremacist’ planned  terrorist attack on two mosques in New Zealand, killing 50 Muslims in a massacre the whole muslim world is in mourning – while the remaining non-muslim world is in shock as how  few people or small group can in minutes deteriorate their peaceful society and put a stigma of being terrorist on the entire nation even though they all may not be part of the same thought.

In the midst of all this tragic event the role of the New Zealand’s Prime Minister “Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern” has been extremely enviable – from the first public speech she made after the incident calling it ‘a terrorism act’ (instead of mincing words) – including her all acts reiterating the rights of the muslim community and the immigrants and her solidarity with the mourning families.

Her prompt decision of revising the gun laws in New Zealand is also appreciated by international community as in comparison USA and some other countries including Pakistan have not been able to do so since over decades.

Her accepting of the act as ‘grave terrorism act against the peaceful muslims in New Zealand’ and immediately vying to take steps so such act is not repeated again has helped greatly in healing the wounds of the mourning families and the muslims around the world.

We must understand that Islam means ‘peace’ and it teaches muslims to respect all other religions and  that “TERRORISM” has no religion but instead terrorism is a mind-set which we all must uproot from our societies.
