Women Tennis World number one Naomi Osaka reached the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix semi-finals after defeating Croatian Donna Vekic.
Osaka won 6-3 4-6 7-6 (7-4) in Stuttgart and play her next game against the Estonian Anett Kontaveit.
In the other semi-final Petra Kvitova will face Kiki Bertens while world number three Kvitova overcame a poor start to beat Latvia’s Anastasija Sevastova 2-6 6-2 6-3.
In an upset the home favourite and reigning Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber was beaten by the Dutch sixth seed Bertens 6-3 6-4.
