Russian armed forces size increased from 1.9 million to 2.04 million effective from Jan,1st 2023

MOSCOW, RUSSIA (The HQ News) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on Thursday 25th August 2022 to increase the size of Russia’s armed forces from 1.9 million to 2.04 million.

 

This increase comes amidst the continued conflict between Russia and Ukraine which has now entered its seventh month.

 

The increase includes a 137,000 boost in the number of combat personnel to 1.15 million. It comes into effect on Jan 1, 2023 according to the Russian govt.’s sources.
