Qatar Visas Center Abroad, inaugurated in Pakistan for swift processing of visas
ISLAMABAD: On Thursday Dec 27, 2018, the “Qatari Visa Center abroad” has been inaugurated in the capital of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Islamabad, as part of efforts to facilitate the expatriates coming into the country.
In his message on this occasion, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Saqr Bin Mubarak Al Mansouri said that in the context of strengthening the distinguished relations between the two countries, and the keenness of the State of Qatar to support these relations, the State of Qatar has decided to choose Pakistan as one of the first eight countries to launch the “Qatar Visas Center Abroad”, in Islamabad and Karachi, in order to facilitate the recruitment of skilled labor from Pakistan, as well as to provide the requirements for obtaining visas to the State of Qatar for the purpose of (visit and residence).
It is to be noted that these procedures were carried out in the past after the entry of the expatriate to the State and will be done now by these centers in the country of the expatriate, this will ensure speedy completion of special process for the issuance of visas and residence permits in Qatar.
The Ambassador also stressed on the decision of the State of Qatar to increase the number of Pakistani workers in Qatar, where the State of Qatar will bring professional and semi-professional cadres of Pakistan to work on the infrastructure projects currently underway in Qatar in the framework of hosting the World Cup 2022.
On the other hand, the Ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Pakistani workforce in the State of Qatar and its participation in the development of the State of Qatar, stressing that the State of Qatar provides a good environment for foreign employees. The United Nations agency International Labor Organization (ILO) has recognized the facilities granted by Qatar to foreign workers from all over the world.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Major General Abdullah Salem Al Ali, Brigadier Abdullah Ali Al Mehandi, Director of Expatriates Affairs, Major Abdullah Khalifa Al Mehandi, Director recruitment support services department at Passports Directorate, and Mr. Masoud Talib Al Athbi, Chargé d’affaires, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Islamabad And Mr. Muhammad Ali Al Meer, Labour & Social Affairs Ministry Labour Expert. Mr. Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, Special Assistant to the Pakistani Prime Minister for expatriates and human resources development, as well as Executive Director-NAVTTC Dr. Nasir Khan was representing the Pakistani side at this occasion.
Earlier Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani had, in a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the side-lines of the UN General Assembly in November, offered 100,000 jobs for skilled and semi-skilled workers from Pakistan.
Syed Zulfikar Bukhari, while speaking to the media after the ceremony, said that Doha had promised 100,000 jobs for Pakistani workers and the process in this regard has been initiated.
