Prime Minister of Pakistan will leave for a two-day strategic visit to Qatar tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (January 20, 2019): The wise and timely initiative of “H.E. Mr. Saqr bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri”, the ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan made Imran Khan the closest friend of Qatar.

Shehryar Afridi State Minister for Interior having his own old contacts with the Ambassador of Qatar “H.E. Mr. Saqr bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri” played the key role of bridge between the PM and “H.E. Mr. Saqr bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri”.

Both  “H.E. Mr. Saqr bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri” and Shehryar Afridi played key role in bringing Pakistan and Qatar closer.

As a result of the continuous several months based diplomatic efforts of “H.E. Mr. Saqr bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri”, “Imran Khan the Prime Minister (PM) of Islamic Republic of Pakistan” will leave for a two-day strategic visit to Qatar tomorrow on Monday January 21.

The PM is visiting Qatar on the invitation of ‘Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hammad al Thani’.

Sources informed that the PM will meet the Qatari Emir and hold meeting with his Qatari counterpart. The PM will also discuss the issue of exporting Pakistani manpower to Qatar.

Earlier on December 18, 2018, Pakistan’s Army Chief ‘Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa’ visited Qatar and had met with the country’s Emir.

The Qatari Emir had appreciated Pakistan’s efforts and positive role it played for regional peace and stability particularly in Afghanistan during the meeting.

The Qatari Emir thanked the country’s leadership for his continued support towards a negotiated political settlement for peace in Afghanistan.

Both sides also discussed measures to enhance bilateral security cooperation.

‘Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa’ also called on Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Naseer Bin Khalifa al Thani.

The Qatari Prime Minister also expressed keen desire to further diversify and broaden mutual cooperation including in the field of security with Pakistan.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) the ruling political party of Pakistan tweeted from its official twitter handle today regards to the PM’s planned visit that : “Qatar prepares to receive Prime Minister Imran Khan and his delegation on a two-day visit”.
