Prime Minister Imran leaves for Washington on three-day official visit

ISLAMABAD/DOHA/WASHINGTON (Saturday, 20 July 2019) – Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan has left for Washington on his three-day official visit to the United States on the invitation of United States President Donald Trump.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is already in Washington for the strategic visit while Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Special Assistant on Overseas Zulfi Bukhari are accompanying the Prime Minister as part of the entourage.

Pakistan’s Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed (DG ISI) are part of this official visit and their presence will give great weightage to the PM Imran Khan’s civilian government dialogue with Washington.

During his short stay at Doha Qatar on transit to Washington the CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Albaker called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and exchanged views on airline infrastructure and development and other issues as per sources.

After assuming the office of Prime Minister this is Imran Khan’s first visit to the United States of America (USA).
