Plastic bags banned by New Zealand to save birds and marine mammals
The use of single-use plastic shopping bags has been banned and hefty fines on its providers being imposed by New Zealand in order to save the environment and save the birds and marine mammals.
The law does though allow reusable plastic carriers production, supply and use as per sources.
New Zealand’s Minister for Environment “Eugenie Sage” said New Zealanders are proud of our country’s clean, green reputation and want to help ensure we live up to it.
Plastic bags and packaging injure or kill over million birds and more than 100,000 marine mammals every year as the birds and mammals get entangled in plastic packaging or ingest it through the food chain.
