Pakistan’s Economic Survey for 2018 – 19 is scheduled to be officially released on Monday 10th June a day before the next year’s federal budget presentation – but as per sources aware of the survey’s contents ‘The Economic Survey’ transpires that the govt. |PTI led Government| has failed to meet targets in almost all sectors of the economy except the livestock sector which showed slight increase in growth compared to the set target as per sources.
The Economic Survey report also transpires that a sharp decline was witnessed in the industrial sector which had against the set target of 7.6 % witnessed only 1.4% growth despite the abundance and uninterrupted power supply, as per sources.
Meanwhile prior to Pakistan’s upcoming federal financial Budget for the year 2019-2020 which is due to be presented in National Assembly on June 11 the Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Dr. Hafeez Shaikh and his economic team have on the weekend extensively reviewed the key features of the budget to finalize proposals and allocations.
As per sources Dr. Hafeez Shaikh and his team have been working hard to manipulate the budget look “low income – deprived segment of society friendly” to avoid the outburst from the already overburdened inflation hit nation.
Meanwhile the government stresses that the upcoming budget emphasizes on austerity, fiscal discipline, external sector management and protecting the poor while ensuring economic stabilization, undertaking projects which create jobs and providing economic stimulus for sustainable growth with a vision of secure and better future for Pakistan.
