Multi Billion Rs state asset “Diamond Cricket Club” used for personal gains illegally
Diamond Cricket Club situated on Ibn-e-Sina Road, Sector G-8/2 Islamabad is an extremely valuable asset of the country worth over 10.00 Billion Pak Rupees and is the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) nursery for creating future cricket stars and grooming the current cricketers.
Sadly in violation of all rules, procedures and law the Diamond cricket club is from a long time used for personal gains, late night parties, unethical gatherings, personal events and other endless commercial activities by a group led by Sheikh Zubair (an SP of Islamabad Police), Shakeel Sheikh former President Islamabad Region, Moeed Sheikh (son of Shakeel Sheikh), Nasir Iqbal and others, as per sources.
A senior supreme court advocate also informed that they Sheikh Zubair (an SP of Islamabad Police), Shakeel Sheikh former President Islamabad Region, Moeed Sheikh (son of Shakeel Sheikh), Nasir Iqbal and others are in severe contempt of several court orders including that of the honourable apex court.
Another source informed The HeadQuarters Daily that a “Contempt of court petition is filed against Sheikh Zubair (an SP of Islamabad Police) and others for non-implementation of Supreme Court order against occupation of government land and illegal lease”.
Per the source the petition was filed by former members of Governing Board PCB Mr. Amir Nawab Khan, Masood Anwar Major (R), Ahmed Nadeem and former secretary Cricket Association Azad Kashmir Tanveer Mughal and others.
It is now well established that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) senior officials are fully supporting Zubair Sheikh SP Islamabad Police and others in all their illegal acts, illegal use of the cricket ground for other uses than the cricket and have earned hundreds of millions rupees from the Diamond Cricket Club facilities all which have went into their personal pockets and not being deposited in the state accounts as per witnesses and sources which makes it purely a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) case.
Sources privy to the matters of the Diamond Cricket Club also claim that Sheikh Shakeel along with Nasir Iqbal forged the lease agreement of Diamond Cricket Ground which is owned by CDA and received rent of hundreds of thousand rupees from PCB which is yet another illegal act to be inquired and prosecuted with as per law.
