ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to host a two-day Khatm-e-Nabuwat (Peace Be Upon Him) Conference in Islamabad, which will be attended by Imam-e-Ka’aba, vice chancellor of Al-Azhar University, Mufti of Syria, and scholars from Iraq and Tunisia.

The decision was taken at a meeting between Minister for Religious Affairs ‘Noor ul Haq Qadri’ and Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PM’s office, wherein the minister briefed Imran Khan on the current situation in the country.

The religious scholars attending the two-day conference will highlight different aspects of the holy life of Hazrat MUHAMMED (Peace Be Upon Him), according to a statement issued from the PM’s office.

On the directives of the Prime Minister, research and compilation work on the holy life of Hazrat MUHAMMED (Peace Be Upon Him) will be promoted and efforts for unity among the Muslim world and interfaith harmony will be expedited.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister said that he would be in continuous contact with the Mashaikhs and Ulema as they wanted to present true image of Islam as a religion of ‘Peace’ before the world.

“It was the responsibility of the state to convey to the coming generations the message of blessings from the life of Holy Prophet Hazrat MUHAMMED (Peace Be Upon Him),” he added.

The Prime Minister observed that he required consultation of Ulema from all religious schools of thought for the establishment of Madina-like Islamic welfare state.

The upcoming 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal would be observed with religious zeal and fervour and the provincial governments had been directed in that regard, he added.
