Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visit flood-hit areas of Balochistan and Sindh today
RAWALPINDI (The HQ News) – Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will visit flood-hit areas of Balochistan and Sindh today ( 27-09-2022).
COAS will himself see the relief efforts on ground and get the latest updates from the Armed forces troops busy in rescue and relief efforts.
As per statement of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Army Flood Relief Camps have been established in various areas affected with floods.
The Government of Pakistan (GOP) has announced emergency in the wake of most severe floods of Pakistan’s history and the relief activities are being carried out in every district affected.
Commander Coast Rear Admiral Javaid Iqbal has prior to the COAS visit made an air and ground visit to the flood affected areas to review the relief activities of the Pakistan Navy and provided the report to the COAS as per sources.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif is also fully active in flood relief efforts monitoring in person since 26th August and providing relief packages and resolving the local flood affectees problems on spot with immediate orders to the concerned authorities which has greatly helped in the current situation and created hope among the nation.
The Prime Minister earlier issued some details on his twitter handle for the efforts to help flood affectees.
As part of efforts to mobilize all resources, I met Islamabad-based ambassadors, high commissioners & senior members of diplomatic corps today to sensitize them about scale of human tragedy. EAD & NDMA briefed the meeting about the current status of the challenge & response.
