The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) retained the two seats that were vacated by Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, while the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won the NA-35 constituency in Bannu.
KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Polling for the by-election was held in 35 constituencies on Sunday, with 11 seats each of the National and Punjab assemblies, nine of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and two each of the Sindh and Balochistan.
From the 11 NA constituencies he Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won four seats each.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) retained the two seats that were vacated by Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, while the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won the NA-35 constituency in Bannu.
PTI was unable to retain the two seats won by Prime Minister Imran Khan in the July 25 general election.
Zahid Akram Durrani from the MMA won in NA-35, which had earlier been won by the Prime Minister Imran Khan in the general election.
In NA-131, PML-N’s Khawaja Saad Rafique emerged the victor against the PTI’s candidate, Humayun Akhtar. Saad Rafique had earlier lost this seat to Imran Khan in the general election.
The PTI successfully retained NA-54, NA-63, and NA-243 which the party won in the general election, while also winning NA-60 where the election had been postponed.
The PML-N took away two seats, which the PTI had won in the general election, with party candidates winning in the NA-131 and NA-56 constituencies.
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi won the NA-124 seat earlier won and then vacated by Hamza Shehbaz in the general election, while also securing NA-103, where polls had been postponed.
