Azerbaijan a peace loving country has shown interest in the process of normalization of relations with Armenia at the political and diplomatic level

Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that despite the ceasefire agreement reached on 13 September, the Armenian side continued to attack Azerbaijani positions in violation of the agreement, which resulted in the killing of military personnel. It was noted that Azerbaijan had only retaliated the attacks of the Armenian side and targeted military units only.

BAKU (The HQ News) – Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Assistant Secretary of State of the United States of America for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried held another telephonic conversation regards to the ongoing tension triggered by the Armenian armed forces on the Azerbaijan-Armenia border.

The Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister informed his counterpart about the current situation and expressed Azerbaijan’s serious concerns over the same.

Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that despite the ceasefire agreement reached on 13 September, the Armenian side continued to attack Azerbaijani positions in violation of the agreement, which resulted in the killing of military personnel. It was noted that Azerbaijan had only retaliated the attacks of the Armenian side and targeted military units only.

 

The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan stressed the need for Armenia to unconditionally observe the ceasefire, refrain from provocations and solve problems through negotiations.

The sources informed that the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister also showed interest in the process of normalization of relations with Armenia at the political and diplomatic level.

Karen Donfried showed concern over the growing tensions in the region, and expressed the US desire of an immediate cessation of hostilities and compliance with the ceasefire and stressed that the need to ensure stability and continue the process of normalization of relations between the two neighboring countries Azerbaijan and Armenia.
