75th anniversary of UN Day – COVID19 pandemic gives lesson for further strengthening and empowering the UN, Sardar Hayaat Mandokhel
ZHOB, BALOCHISTAN – Sardar Hayaat Mandokhel the Supreme Chief of Mandokhel and Hadizai Tribes on the UN Day stated that after COVID-19 pandemic the different nations and countries of the world have realised that if one region of the world is hit by a pandemic or any other crisis it can easily escalate to the entire world and that after 2020 we all must consider the entire world as a single unit – this has manifold increased the desire of strengthening and empowering the UN even more to make it further capable of foreseeing and combatting all crises this world may face.
This year on its 75th anniversary the importance of UN and its functions has become even more acknowledged by majority of UN’s 193 Member States and the common man whose life betterment depends on many functions of the UN.
The United Nations (UN) officially came into existence on 24th October 1945 and its Charter | ratified by China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, and by a majority of other signatories| also came into force the same year – in significance of the same each year on 24th October the anniversary of the United Nations and its founding Charter is celebrated.
The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the United Nations and its founding Charter – 75 years of consistent hard work in making this world a better, just and peaceful place for all.
The 75th anniversary of UN and its founding Charter arrived at a time of a severe COVID-19 caused health crisis which has affected the entire world population, the related daily life activities, the logistics, the economies and the mental health of millions of humans.
During the virtual commemorations, Volkan Bozkir, President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly reminded us that together we’ve overcome the world’s greatest challenges. And together, we can do it again.
