Apple Inc. has launched iPhone 14 series with emergency satellite connectivity and other advanced features
Apple Inc. has launched its most sought for iPhone 14 series with emergency satellite connectivity and car crash detection technology, at a launch event in the US at its Cupertino headquarters.
Iphone has introduced four versions under its iphone14 series in addition to a new version of watch named as Ultra which Apple claims to withstand extreme conditions and designed for athletes of all kinds, with specialized bands for endurance training, outdoor adventures, and water sports.
The launching event was attended at Apple’s headquarters by audience attending in person for the first time since the corona virus pandemic.
The new AirPod version was also part of the launching event.
Tim Cook the CEO of Apple Inc. was on stage at the Steve Jobs theatre inside the tech giant’s California campus while the presentation itself was entirely pre-recorded.
The iphone 14 Pro with 6.1 inch display has starting price of US $ 999 and iphone 14 Max with 6.7 inch display has starting price of $ 1099 .
Apple has launched iPhone 14 in two sizes, the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus.
Iphone 14 handsets are capable of sending an emergency call for help via satellite.
The phone will display the whereabouts of passing satellites overhead and demonstrate how to point the device at them correctly which may take from 15 seconds to a few minutes to send a basic message.
“The investment to add satellite capability should not be underestimated,” said Ben Wood, chief analyst at CCS Insight.
“It will likely have taken Apple years to put all the pieces of the puzzle in place, including a commercial agreement with satellite provider Globalstar, and the creation of the infrastructure needed to pass messages to the emergency services.”
The HeadQuarters News editor-in-chief appreciating this technology for consumers in hard to reach areas resembled it with the services recently offered by Elon Musk’s SpaceX and giant cellular services provider T-Mobile agreement to boost cellular coverage using SpaceX satellites.
The major improvement in iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max designs is the top of the screen which is now a pill shaped cut-out in addition to a feature called the Dynamic Island which has replaced the black notch of previous versions, which many iPhone users complain about – and it can change shape depending on what notifications there are.
The other big change is that the handset can always remain on and when the phone is not in use, the screen dims and the refresh rate is lowered.
Apple also claims to have special environment friendly considerations while designing iphone 14
Apple states that as part of its efforts to reach carbon neutrality by 2030, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max do not include a power adapter or EarPods. Included in the box is a USB‑C to Lightning Cable that supports fast charging and is compatible with USB‑C power adapters and computer ports.
Apple encourage its clients to re‑use your current USB‑A to Lightning cables, power adapters, and headphones, which are compatible with these iPhone models.
